A Comparaison of Multicore Programming Languages and Libraries

With multicore processors appearing in desktop and laptop computers and the expected increased of the number of cores in these processors, parallel computing is becoming the usually way of programming. But parallel programming is not a widespread skill. Thus there is a lot of researchs aiming at the development of new programming languages, linguistic extensions and libraries that will help the users to program in parallel: Fortress, Cilk++, SaC, Chapel, CnC, TBB, Manticore, OpenMP, MPI, FlowVR, and extensions to PThreads, etc.

The goal of this project is to compare several of this languages mainly with respect to expressivity and efficiency.
